Introducing The Mitchell & Royce Spitfire

This award winning Spitfire is due to arrive with us from Canada at the beginning of February, she will have to be re registered onto the UK (LAA) light aircraft fleet, we hope this will be completed quickly and we can get her sporting her new Squadron codes for the flying season. She will retain her brown and green camouflage but will carry the squadron code QJ M and tail number R6622 a Spitfire flown by Sergeant Oldfield who lost his life on the 27th September 1940 on his fifth sortie, he was 21 years old.

Fancy Taxying a full Scale MK9 Spitfire?

We are also working on a special project that will allow you to taxy a Spitfire on our event lawn, your guests will see you in the cockpit taxying our full scale ( non Flying) Mk9 replicas which we will be building here shortly. We will have a qualified but, unseen pilot in the rear who is controlling the aircraft, you just have to look fabulous for your photos. If you would like to go on our waitlist for places please pop you name and email address below and we will let you know when we are ready to accept bookings

More Spitfire Simulators

Following a visit to our own Spitfire simulator we were asked by that visitor to build two further Spitfire simulators for them, John Ross our resident volunteer engineer has done a fabulous job on these two and is currently working on a short version for our own simulator room. You can experience just what it was like to fly a Spit in combat or just enjoy the thrill of flying over the Kent countryside. Click here for more information
